ISR Swim lessons for young kids in San Diego

Keep your child safe in the water

The Importance of Infant Swimming Resource (ISR)

Ensuring the safety and well-being of your child is your top priority. At our ISR swimming school in San Diego, CA, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of water safety training for infants and young children. Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) is a specialized program designed to equip your baby with essential self-rescue skills that could be life-saving. Here’s why enrolling your baby in ISR lessons is one of the best decisions you can make for their safety and development.

About ISR

ISR believes pool fences, supervision, and pool alarms are important parts of a necessary multi-layered approach to drowning prevention. However, traditional lines of defense break down, and the over 4,000 drowning deaths per year bear a grim testament to the fact that traditional approaches are missing a key component: the child. ISR’s core conviction is that the child is the most important part of a drowning prevention strategy and our over 500,000 ISR graduates and over 1,000 documented survival stories are proof that children can save themselves.

Proven Survival Skills

ISR is not just about teaching children to swim; it’s about teaching them to survive. Our program focuses on:

  • Self-Rescue Techniques: ISR lessons teach your baby how to roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe, which can be critical if they ever find themselves in water unsupervised.
  • Personalized Instruction: Each child receives one-on-one attention from certified ISR instructors, ensuring that lessons are tailored to their unique needs, abilities, and learning pace.

Meet Our Certified Instructors

Join experienced swim instructors Brad Hurvitz and Baye Hatcher for ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) Self-Rescue® lessons that will keep your infant, toddler, or younger child safe in the water.

Even if they’ve never been in the water before, your child, even if still a baby, will quickly feel confident and start having fun in the water. Most importantly, your child will learn the aquatic skills to stay safe for life.

Bring your child, aged 6 months to six years, for fully personalized, one-on-one lessons with Brad. Your child will work hard in the 10 minute lesson. The consistency of lessons will allow your kiddo to make small adjustments to build toward our shared goals of a swim-float-swim back to the wall. Or a roll and float for babies. Lessons happen Monday through Friday, for 10 minutes each day for an average of 6 weeks.

Our ISR instructors undergo rigorous training and certification to ensure the highest quality of instruction:

  • Expert Training: ISR instructors are trained extensively in child development, psychology, and physiology, as well as water safety and rescue techniques.
  • Ongoing Education: Our instructors continually update their skills and knowledge through ongoing education and training, ensuring that they provide the best possible instruction to your child.

Everyone gets the best experience!
